ECGC Country Rating
ECGC country rating or country risks classification is a system that categorizes countries based on their economic and political stability, as well as their creditworthiness.
The ECGC Country Rating system consists of seven categories, ranging from Category A1, which includes countries with a very low risk of non-payment, to Category D, which includes countries with a very high risk of non-payment.
Under the ECGC country rating countries are placed under Open Cover Countries, Restricted Cover Country Type 1 and Restricted Cover Country Type 2.
The ECGC Country Rating, also known as ECGC country classification, is a model that evaluates various factors including political, economic, social, and environmental aspects. This rating is periodically revised and is an essential tool for exporters and lenders to assess the risks involved in conducting business in different countries. With the help of this rating, they can make informed decisions about their international trade activities.
Country Classification
The countries listed in A1 are considered to pose an Insignificant Risk.
The countries listed in A2 are considered to pose a Low Risk.
The countries listed in B1 are considered to pose a Moderate Low Risk.
The countries listed in B2 are considered to pose a Moderately Risk.
The countries listed in C1 are considered to pose a Moderately High Risk.
The countries listed in C2 are considered to pose a High Risk.
The countries listed in D are considered to pose a Very High Risk.
