Trade Agreements Checker
Which of India's trade agreements cover your buyer's country, what they cut, and how to claim the lower duty. Every entry is dated and linked to its sources.
Claiming a lower duty, in three steps
Check the product qualifies. It must meet the agreement's rules of origin: made in India, or changed enough here (a tariff-heading change, a minimum value added, or both).
Get the preferential certificate of origin on DGFT's Trade Connect platform, trade.gov.in, before the goods arrive. Some agreements (the UK CETA, the EU FTA once in force) also let you declare origin yourself.
Send it to your buyer with the shipping documents, so their customs broker can claim the preference at import.
Agreement texts and tariffs change. Before you ship, confirm the duty and the origin rule for your exact tariff line with your customs broker or the agreement's official text. Last checked 30 Sep 2026.
